Iver Door Hardware Kits — Everything You Need, In One Box
Stop buying door hardware piecemeal and getting to installation day missing a latch, a spindle or a striker plate. Iver door kits are designed to solve exactly that problem — every component required to fully install your handle on your door, pre-matched, pre-specified, ready to go. One kit. One box. Nothing missing.
Iver is part of Southern Design Group — the same Australian family as Tradco Hardware — and carries the brand's signature philosophy: Created for Life. That means solid forged brass construction, PVD-coated finishes that outlast lacquered alternatives, and hardware independently tested to the highest durability rating available under Australian Standards. Available in 10 finishes, from Brushed Gold PVD (lifetime warranty against corrosion) to Matte Black, Signature Brass and Distressed Nickel — and compatible with Tradco's finish family so you can run Iver throughout and not miss a beat.

The Three Iver Kit Types — Which One Do You Need?
Passage Kit — Internal doors, no lock required
The Passage Kit is for every internal door in your home where privacy is not needed: hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, studies, laundries, and most bedroom doors where a lock isn't a priority. It includes two levers on rose or backplate, a 60mm tube latch, matching face plate, striker plate, spindle and all fixings. No lock, no cylinder — just a clean, functioning handle that opens and closes the door.
What's in the box: 2× Iver levers on rose/backplate | 1× 60mm tube latch | 1× face plate | 1× striker plate | 1× spindle | screws and fixings | drill template | instruction manual
Privacy Kit — Bathrooms, bedrooms, powder rooms, home offices
The Privacy Kit is for internal doors where you need the ability to lock from inside without a key — bathrooms, ensuites, powder rooms, bedrooms, and home offices. Iver Privacy Kits come with either an inbuilt privacy pin (concealed within the rose, operated by a small button or turn on the lever) or a separate privacy turn and emergency release, depending on the lever style. Both include an emergency release on the outside for safety — essential for bathrooms where a child or elderly person may accidentally lock themselves in.
What's in the box: 2× Iver levers on rose/backplate with privacy function | 1× 60mm privacy tube latch | 1× face plate | 1× striker plate | 1× privacy spindle | 1× dust box | allen key | grub screws | screws and fixings | drill template | instruction manual
Entrance Kit — External doors, front doors, back doors, patio and garage access
The Entrance Kit is for any external door where security is needed. It includes two levers on escutcheons (not roses), a 60mm backset Euro 85 lock body, and a 70mm Euro cylinder — available in either Key/Turn (single cylinder: key outside, thumb-turn inside — the most common residential choice) or Key/Key (double cylinder: key required on both sides — suited to doors adjacent to glass panels where a thumb-turn could be reached through broken glass). The Euro cylinder is the standard modern keying platform and can be rekeyed by a locksmith to suit a master key system or keyed-alike setup across all external doors.
What's in the box: 2× Iver levers on escutcheon | 1× 60mm backset Euro 85 lock body | 1× 70mm Euro cylinder (key/turn or key/key) | 2× escutcheon plates | face plate | striker plate | spindle | screws and fixings | drill template | instruction manual
Iver Finishes — The Complete Guide
Every Iver kit is available in the same 10-finish range. Here is exactly what each finish is, who it suits, and how to care for it:
Brushed Gold PVD — Iver's premium flagship finish and the only one in the range covered by a lifetime warranty against corrosion. Applied via Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD), a process that bonds a microscopic hard-wearing metal layer to the solid brass at a molecular level, Brushed Gold PVD is scratch-resistant, tarnish-resistant, and fully rated for coastal and moisture-rich environments. The warm satin gold tone suits Hamptons, French Provincial, contemporary Victorian and luxury new builds. If you want brass hardware that will still look flawless in 20 years with zero maintenance beyond a damp cloth wipe — this is the finish.
Brushed Brass — A soft, warm satin gold. The most popular brass finish for contemporary Hamptons and modern renovations. Lacquered over solid brass, Brushed Brass has a muted, understated warmth that pairs beautifully with white walls, timber floors and stone benchtops. For maximum longevity in a brushed brass finish, upgrade to Brushed Gold PVD — the look is similar, the durability gap is significant.
Polished Brass — A bright, reflective warm gold. The most historically accurate finish for Victorian, Federation and Edwardian homes. Lacquered to protect the surface; will patinate naturally over time as the lacquer wears, developing individual character. Clean with a damp cloth and avoid abrasive products.
Signature Brass — Iver's hand-aged brass finish. Rich, deep and layered in tone, Signature Brass develops and shifts naturally over time, becoming more characterful with use. It is the most distinctive and artisanal brass in the Iver range — ideal for homes that want warmth and history without the reproduction styling of Tradco's Antique Brass. Clean gently to preserve the evolving patina.
Matte Black — Bold, minimal and graphic. Matte Black is the defining hardware choice for contemporary industrial, Japandi, and dark-palette interiors, and works equally powerfully as a contrast accent in Hamptons and Scandi-white renovations. Wipe with a damp soft cloth; avoid abrasives and impacts that can chip the surface coating.
Satin Nickel — A soft, warm silver with a brushed surface texture. The most versatile silver-family finish in the range — works in virtually any interior from contemporary to Hamptons to transitional. Neither cold like chrome nor warm like brass, Satin Nickel is the neutral hardware choice that suits almost any colour palette. Wipe with a damp cloth to maintain.
Polished Nickel — A bright, reflective silver with warm undertones — less cold than chrome, more luminous than satin nickel. Suited to classic and transitional interiors. Polished Nickel will age naturally over time, or can be polished to restore brightness. Carries a lifetime warranty against corrosion.
Distressed Nickel — A textured, aged silver with a rustic, artisanal quality. The nickel tones deepen and shift with use, making each piece increasingly individual. Suited to Hamptons, Provincial, Coastal and any interior that wants silver-family hardware with warmth and character rather than a factory-fresh look. Carries a lifetime warranty against corrosion.
Polished Chrome — A bright, highly reflective cool silver. The correct finish for Art Deco, mid-century and 1950s–1960s post-war interiors. Resistant to rust and suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. Carries a lifetime warranty against corrosion.
Brushed Chrome — A softer, matte version of polished chrome. Contemporary and refined, Brushed Chrome suits modern and transitional interiors where a chrome family is preferred but without the mirror-like intensity of polished. Resistant to rust. Carries a lifetime warranty against corrosion.
Why Iver Kits Are Tested to the Highest Standard in Australia
Every Iver lever is independently fire tested to 2 hours, meeting the requirements of Australian Standard AS1530.4:2014 — the standard required for fire door applications in Australian residential and commercial buildings. And every lever has been tested to the highest durability rating available: D8, 500,000 cycles under AS4145.2:2008. That is half a million open-and-close operations under independent testing — the equivalent of multiple lifetimes of daily residential use. When Iver says Created for Life, it is a specification, not just a tagline.
Iver and Tradco — The Whole-of-Home System
Iver and Tradco are both part of Southern Design Group and their finish families are intentionally aligned. This means you can run Iver lever kits on your internal doors, Tradco period hardware on heritage external doors, and Iver cabinet pulls in the kitchen — and the finish families coordinate seamlessly across the whole home. For renovation projects that want a contemporary interpretation of a period style (a Hamptons renovation of a Victorian terrace, for example), this cross-brand compatibility is exactly what makes a whole-of-home hardware specification coherent and achievable.
Frequently Asked Questions — Iver Door Kits
What is included in an Iver Passage Kit?
An Iver Passage Kit includes everything required to install a functioning internal door handle with no lock: two levers on rose or backplate, a 60mm tube latch, matching face plate, striker plate, spindle, screws, fixings, drill template and instruction manual. Nothing else is required — it is a complete installation kit for internal doors where privacy is not needed.
What is included in an Iver Privacy Kit?
An Iver Privacy Kit includes: two levers on rose or backplate with privacy function (either inbuilt pin or separate turn/release), a 60mm privacy tube latch, face plate, striker plate, privacy spindle, dust box, allen key, grub screws, and all fixings. The privacy function locks the door from inside without a key; an emergency release on the outside allows the door to be opened in an emergency. For bathrooms and bedrooms.
What is included in an Iver Entrance Kit?
An Iver Entrance Kit includes: two levers on escutcheon plates, a 60mm backset Euro 85 lock body, a 70mm Euro cylinder (your choice of key/turn for a standard front door, or key/key for doors adjacent to glass), two escutcheon plates, face plate, striker plate, spindle and all fixings. Everything needed to fully install a security-rated external door handle from scratch.
What is the difference between key/turn and key/key for the Entrance Kit?
Key/Turn (single cylinder) means a key is used on the outside and a thumb-turn on the inside — the most common configuration for residential front and back doors. Key/Key (double cylinder) requires a key on both sides — this is used where the door is adjacent to a glass panel or sidelight, so an intruder cannot break the glass, reach through, and use the thumb-turn to unlock the door. Key/Key doors require a key to exit as well as enter, which is a consideration for emergency egress. Our locksmith team can advise on which is appropriate for your door.
What backset do Iver kits use?
Iver kits use a standard 60mm backset latch and a 60mm backset Euro 85 lock body for entrance kits. The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the handle hole. 60mm is the Australian standard for most residential doors. If your existing door has a different backset, contact us before ordering — our locksmith team can advise on compatibility and alternatives.
Are Iver door kits fire rated?
Yes. All Iver door levers have been independently fire tested to 2 hours, meeting the requirements of Australian Standard AS1530.4:2014. This makes them suitable for fire door applications in residential and commercial buildings where compliant hardware is required. If you are fitting hardware to a fire-rated door, specify this when ordering and we can confirm suitability for your specific application.
What is the durability rating of Iver door levers?
Iver levers are independently tested to D8 — the highest durability grade available under Australian Standard AS4145.2:2008 — at 500,000 cycles. This represents a proven operational lifespan far exceeding the requirements of standard residential use. It is the rating used for commercial and high-traffic applications, and Iver meets it across the full lever range.
What is PVD coating and why does it matter?
PVD stands for Physical Vapour Deposition. It is a process that bonds a microscopic layer of hard-wearing metal directly to the solid brass substrate at a molecular level, producing a finish that is dramatically more resistant to scratching, tarnishing and corrosion than lacquered or electroplated alternatives. Iver's Brushed Gold PVD, Polished Chrome, Brushed Chrome, Polished Nickel and Distressed Nickel finishes all carry a lifetime warranty against corrosion — the only hardware finishes in the Iver range backed by that guarantee. For coastal homes, bathrooms, or any application where longevity of finish is critical, PVD is the right specification.
Which Iver finish is best for a Hamptons home?
The three most popular Iver finishes for Hamptons homes are Brushed Gold PVD (warm satin gold, lifetime warranty), Satin Nickel (soft neutral silver, versatile) and Matte Black (as a bold accent or full commitment). Brushed Brass is also widely used where a slightly warmer, more muted gold is preferred over the PVD version. For coastal Hamptons homes — beachside suburbs, waterfront properties — Brushed Gold PVD is the strongest specification given its corrosion resistance in salt air environments.
Which Iver finish is best for a coastal or beachside home?
Brushed Gold PVD is the definitive choice for coastal applications. Its PVD coating makes it resistant to salt air, moisture and humidity in ways that lacquered brass finishes simply cannot match, and the lifetime corrosion warranty backs that claim. Polished Chrome, Brushed Chrome and Polished Nickel also carry lifetime corrosion warranties and are sound choices for coastal environments. Avoid lacquered finishes (Brushed Brass, Polished Brass) for exterior coastal applications where the lacquer will be degraded by salt air over time.
Can Iver kits be used on fire doors?
Yes. All Iver levers are fire rated to 2 hours (AS1530.4:2014), making them compliant for use on fire doors in residential and commercial applications. If you are installing hardware on a certified fire door, confirm the specific door certification requirements and contact our team — as a licensed locksmith business we can advise on compliance for your specific installation.
Can the Euro cylinder in the Entrance Kit be rekeyed or added to a master key system?
Yes. The Euro cylinder included in Iver Entrance Kits is a standard 70mm Euro profile cylinder that can be rekeyed by a qualified locksmith. This means it can be set to match other cylinders throughout your home (keyed alike), or incorporated into a master key system for properties with multiple doors and access levels. We offer cylinder rekeying and master key system setup as a service — contact our locksmith team for a quote.
Can I use an Iver Entrance Kit with a smart lock or electronic deadbolt?
Yes. The most common approach is to install an Iver Passage Kit (not an Entrance Kit) on the external door alongside a separate electronic deadbolt. The Iver lever handles the door pull and latching; the smart lock handles the locking and access control. This gives you the design-led hardware aesthetic of Iver on the outside while using your preferred smart lock platform (Yale, Schlage, August, etc.) for security. Contact our team for advice on combining specific Iver lever styles with compatible electronic deadbolts.
Are half sets available in the Iver kit range?
Half sets — single levers for one side of the door only — are not available in the standard Iver kit range. Kits always include a full pair of levers. If you need a single lever for a specific application (a dummy set on a wardrobe or linen press door, for example), contact us and we can advise on the correct product within the Iver range for that purpose.
Do Iver kits include all screws and fixings?
Yes. Every Iver kit is supplied with all screws, fixings, a drill template and an instruction manual. The kits are designed to be complete installation packages — you do not need to source spindles, latches, plates or fixings separately. The face-fix wood screws and tie bolts included suit doors up to 55mm thick; if your door is thicker than 55mm, contact us before ordering.
How do I maintain Iver door hardware?
Wipe all Iver finishes regularly with a damp soft cloth and dry thoroughly. Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or harsh chemical products — these will damage even PVD-coated finishes. For Matte Black, avoid impacts and abrasion that can chip the surface. For Signature Brass, clean gently to preserve the living patina; the finish will develop character with age which is intentional. PVD finishes (Brushed Gold, Chrome, Nickel variants) are the most maintenance-free — regular damp-cloth cleaning is all that is required.
What is the difference between Iver and Tradco, and can I mix them?
Tradco specialises in period and heritage reproduction hardware — Victorian, Federation, Edwardian, Art Deco, Bungalow — with an emphasis on historical accuracy and traditional craftsmanship. Iver is Tradco's sister brand under Southern Design Group, positioned for contemporary and design-led applications: Hamptons, modern builds, transitional renovations and commercial spaces. Because both brands are designed under the same roof, their finish families are aligned — Iver Brushed Brass and Tradco Satin Brass coordinate; Iver Matte Black and Tradco Matte Black are the same family. Mixing is completely intentional and seamless.
