The Collins is Nidus by Carbine's Project Series lever — a curved, contemporary handle on a 63mm round rose designed for volume residential builds and straightforward retrofits. It covers every function in a single range: passage, privacy, entrance, and dummy, in both left and right hand for dummy configurations, so you can run one consistent design across every door in a home without mixing styles.

The key-in-lever entrance function integrates the cylinder directly into the lever body rather than using a separate lock, keeping the rose clean and uncluttered. The privacy set uses a push-button lock on the lever that releases automatically when the interior handle is turned — a cleaner and more intuitive mechanism than a traditional rose-mounted snib.

What is the difference between the Collins and the Lonsdale? Both are Project Series levers from Nidus by Carbine. The Lonsdale has a straight lever on a slightly larger rose (70mm round or 65mm square) and suits thicker doors up to 57mm. The Collins uses a curved lever on a 63mm rose and suits doors up to 45mm. The Lonsdale is available in Chrome Plate as well; the Collins is Brushed Nickel and Matte Black only.

What function do I need? Passage is for internal doors with no locking required — hallways, living areas, laundries. Privacy is for bathrooms, ensuites, and bedrooms where inside locking is needed. Entrance is for external doors requiring a key. Dummy levers are fixed, non-operational handles for wardrobe and cupboard doors where no latch is needed.

Why are there left hand and right hand dummy levers? Unlike functional levers which are non-handed, dummy levers are handed because the lever curves in a specific direction and needs to match the swing of the door or the visual alignment of the pair. Measure from the hinge side — if hinges are on the left, you need a right hand dummy.

Does the entrance set come with a key? Yes. The entrance set is supplied keyed to differ, meaning it comes with its own unique key. If you need multiple entrance sets to operate from the same key, contact us — Lockmart can arrange keyed alike sets.

Is this compatible with standard Australian door prep? Yes. The Collins suits a standard 54mm crossbore hole with a 60mm backset, which covers the vast majority of residential doors in Australia.
