Description
Description
The Lockwood Velocity Glide (L4) is the most fluid design in the Velocity range, a continuously curving lever that sweeps downward from the rose in a single, unbroken arc. Where the Element is geometric and the Spire is dramatic, the Glide is effortless. Its rounded form is soft without being insubstantial, and its fluid silhouette suits a broader range of interior styles than almost any other lever in the Velocity family.
Designed in Australia as part of the Lockwood Velocity® Series, the Glide brings the same pre-assembled installation system, concealed fixings, 63mm round rose and 25-year mechanical warranty as the rest of the range. The name is apt, both visually and in use, there's nothing abrupt about it.
Lever profile - Glide L4
The Glide's defining characteristic is its continuous downward curve - the lever descends from the rose in a smooth radius without an angular return point, ending in a rounded tip. This makes it the most tactile lever in the Velocity range; the curve naturally guides the hand into the correct grip position. It's the lever people instinctively reach for without knowing why, and it suits everything from French Provincial and Hamptons to soft contemporary and Scandinavian interiors.

Which interior styles suit the Glide?
The Glide's curved profile is the softest in the Velocity range, which makes it the natural pairing for homes with rounded or organic design elements — curved joinery profiles, Hamptons or coastal aesthetics, French Provincial finishes, or Scandinavian interiors with a focus on natural forms. In Satin Chrome it feels warm and inviting; in Chrome Plate it has a classic quality; in Matt Black it's unexpectedly striking — the curve reads more sculptural against a dark finish.
Whole-of-home compatibility
The Glide L4 lever profile is available across Lockwood Nexion Classic, Nexion Vision and Palladium entrance locksets, so the same curved profile can run from the front door through every internal door in the home. It coordinates naturally with the Lockwood Paradigm 005 round deadbolt as part of a complete hardware suite.
Installation
Like all Velocity levers, the Glide arrives pre-assembled. The twist-and-tighten rose mechanism conceals all fixings beneath the removable rose trim for a clean finished appearance. The 63mm rose fits 50mm and 54mm bore holes — the two standard preparations used across Australian residential construction. Professional installation available through Lockmart's qualified locksmiths across the Mornington Peninsula and south-east Melbourne. Call 1300 730 539 or ask at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
- How does the Glide L4 differ from the other Velocity levers?
- The Glide has a continuous downward curve with no angular return — the smoothest, most fluid profile in the range. The Summit L1 is straight and minimal; the Spire L2 curves upward; the Element L3 has a square return. The Glide is the most rounded and tactile of the four lever profiles.
- What interior styles suit the Glide lever?
- The Glide's curved form suits Hamptons, French Provincial, coastal, Scandinavian and soft contemporary interiors. It's the lever that feels most at home in spaces with rounded or organic design elements. In Chrome Plate it also suits traditional and transitional period homes.
- Is the Glide available for my front entrance door?
- Yes. The L4 Glide profile is available on Lockwood Nexion Classic and Nexion Vision entrance locksets, so you can match internal passage and privacy sets to your front door for a consistent whole-of-home look.
- Can I use the Glide lever in a bathroom?
- Yes — order the privacy set. The privacy function includes a push-button snib on the inside face, suitable for bathrooms, ensuites and toilets. The snib can be released from outside in an emergency.
- Does the Velocity Glide fit standard Australian door preparations?
- Yes. The 63mm rose fits 50mm and 54mm diameter bore holes — the two standard preparations used in Australian residential construction. It suits both new door installations and retrofitting over existing bore holes.
- What is included in the passage set?
- A passage set includes two levers (interior and exterior face), the rose assemblies, latch bolt, strike plate and all concealed fixings. It does not include a cylinder or privacy snib — the lever turns freely on both sides.
- Is the Glide covered by the 25-year warranty?
- Yes. All Velocity Series lever sets carry Lockwood's 25-year mechanical warranty covering the lever mechanism, latch action and rose assembly against manufacturing defects.
